Wonderful Weekend Weather!

We had amazing weather this weekend! It was almost close to 70 on Saturday and Sunday was in the 60's. Sunny and beautiful. I have to say...I love that it is late January and we can still break out our flip flops and short sleeve shirts. We had lots of play time outside.

They still love to drive their car around. I had to take a picture because they are both so big now, trying to ride together in this car. When they first got it, they both were small...Bree only wanted to ride in it, but not drive.
This is two years ago in Oklahoma..
Today, they are shoulder to shoulder when they sit in this together. They kind of look like they are driving one of those small clown cars. :)
Our neighbor Mariah came out to play with us. She is about 4 months older than Bree and both girls love to play with her. Katie and Mariah went for a ride. Mariah got a Jeep for Christmas so they ended up out on the road racing. I love that we live on a cul de sac...very little traffic.
Bree headed out on her trike....trying to catch them. :)

I have been loving our weather lately. It so nice to be able to get outside and play and enjoy the sunshine.

Yucky Sickness

I have done really good this year, not one cold...UNTIL last week. I started feeling bad on Wednesday. I had lots going on that day, so I just tried to ignore it. We had our Life Group from church coming over that night and I had to prepare some food.

Thanks to my friend Joy, she gave me some super easy ideas for appetizers. Everyone must have agreed that they were yummy, because there wasn't much left.

By Thursday morning I was definitely sick. I spent all day Friday and Saturday in bed. I know I am thankful for my family, who takes such good care of me. On Thursday evening Katie did so good helping watch and take care of Bree while I rested. Then on Friday morning, I was feeling really bad, but knew I had to get the girls out the door to school. Sweet Katie got Bree up, helped her pick out her clothes and get ready. I was down stairs getting their breakfast ready when they came down stairs. They look so cute and Katie so proud of helping out I had to take a pic.

On Saturday Chris had to go into work for a few hours so Katie once again helped out a great deal and so did Bree. They both played really well and both even took naps for me so I could sleep. Chris did all the laundry and even cooked dinners all weekend for me. It was so nice to be able to just rest and get better. You will probably see a similar post on my other blog...this is one thing I am thankful for, the love of my family and how they take care of me when I am not well.

Lazy Weekend

This is a post from last weekend. We had a really lazy weekend, not much going on which was nice.

Bree starting off her morning warming up by the fire.
staying in their pj's watching a movie.
I got out to run.  I love the view from our subdivision of the Inter coastal waterway. This pic doesn't really do it justice, but it so beautiful and I love to run this part of our subdivision, very peaceful.
Bree did have a birthday party to go to. All ready and excited to go.
They were very sweet to include Katie as well. She had fun playing on all the inflatables. I think she has been feeling a little left out as Bree has had two back to back bday parties recently.
All the kiddos in the inflatable, should I say deflatable, chair. :)
Bree and the birthday girl Katelynn.
This is Bree and her other good friend Nyla. She is such a sweet little girl.
Other than the birthday party, we pretty much had nothing else to do but just hang out at home and be lazy. It was nice to not have a laundry list of things to get done in a weekend. :)

Goo Bath

I don't know if you have seen the commercials for this or not, but there is this stuff called Goo Bath, which basically turns their bath water into goo. Saturday we were at Walmart and they talked their daddy into buying this. They both were so excited to take a bath.

It starts out just colored water....nice pretty green

Then after about 5 mins it turns to a solid "jello" type of goo.

It is completely disgusting, but they have been playing in the bath, giggling and having the best time. Good thing Chris is cleaning bathrooms tonight. I believe their tub will have to be scrubbed. But it is worth the memory. :)

Getting Back.

I don't know about you all but getting back into the swing of things after the holidays has been hard. The girls are finally back to their schedule, Chris was off for 10 days and has been back at work and I have just been trying to get our routine back. Feel a little out of synce lately but hopefully I will get back in the groove soon. A few things have been happening. My physical theraphy for my back is finally done and my back is healed. Big blessing there. It is hard not being 100% so I am glad I am no longer in pain. I have also started running again. It has been hard to carve out the time each day but I am trying to make myself. The first week back to running was horrible. I felt like an old lady...everything hurt, I felt like I could die just only after a mile. My goal is to run a half marathon in March. So the back to running not going so well has been discouraging. This week has been much better. I have ran my 3 miles each day..pushing through the times I just want to stop. Those times I just dig deep and get some extra strength from Jesus. Lord knows that is the only way I will make it through this. Because right now the thought of running 13 miles seems impossible. Girls are back to their dance and gymnastics classes as well. Bree had her first invite to a birthday party this past weekend. She was really excited and had a blast. No pictures because my phone battery was low and it wouldn't let me take pics. She has another one this weekend so I'll grab some pics then. I met a mom there and we chatted and exchanged numbers so I eevn made a new friend. :) The girls have already started talking about their upcoming birthdays. It is crazy to think that they will be 7 and 5 next month. I look at Bree and think " how can she be going into Kindergarten in the fall. She is so little" Chris made the comment that in 10 years Katie would be getting ready to go to college. Tha just made me want to cry. Not much of a post but just wanted to give an update on how the year is starting out. I hope everyone's new year has started out well and you all are getting back in the swing of things too.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!!! This year for new years we traveled over to Columbia SC to meet Chris' parents half way. It was a short trip, drove over Saturday and came back Sunday, but we wanted to make the trip since Chris' mom is leaving for Thailand this week for 3 months. We wanted to let her see her grandkids and give her some love before she left.

We went out to eat at Copper River Grill....it was so good! We had a little mini photo shoot at the dinner table. Last pics before the new year.

Bree enjoying her big bowl of Mac n Cheese. I am really surprised she at this because she is super picky about her Mac n Cheese. If is looks anything different then the Kraft stuff...she normally doesn't eat it. But she loved and ate pretty much all of it.
My big girl...man doesn't she look so grown up here. :(
Bree wanted to take a photo of three of us
Then it was Katie's turn....I guess the flash reflected off of her glass.
As we were leaving, Katie wanted to take a picture of just me and Chris outside.
Remember in my previous post how I said the girls got each other sleep mask for Christmas...they put them to good use in the car. They both were them at night to sleep as well. When I go in the morning to wake Bree and Katie up for school most of the time it is still on their eyes. I guess you are never to young to appreciate a good sleep mask. :)

Before we headed back on Sunday we got to meet up with some friends, Ken and Nannette,  that we haven't seen in a very long time. We knew them back when we lived in Columbia. Chris used to work with Ken and still keeps in touch with him. They have only seen Katie before and she was less than a year old when we left so they couldn't believe how big they all were. It was fun catching up with them.

I hope you all have a safe and fun New Year!!!!
