Happy Birthday To Me!

A few weeks ago it was my birthday. I turned 34 and was able to celebrate with my family in TN. This was the first time in 5 years that I was actually back in my hometown for my birthday. Chris wasn't able to be there with us, but it was still a special day.

In the morning we took the girls to Bays Mountain Park. It is very close to my parents. They have wildlife animals, deer, wolves, otters, bobcat, some birds, snakes etc that you can look at.
The girls were checking out the deer with Nana. There were several just laying around and even a few baby deer.

A birthday pic with my two favorite girls.

That night we went to eat at BW3's...one of my favorite places to eat. They have the best wings. After dinner we headed back to my parents to have some cake. This is the cakes the girls picked out for me.

The girls got me this purse for my birthday and my parents got me a wallet to go with it. Even thought Chris wasn't there he had gotten me a gift card to a spa here in our new town. He said I could probably use it after all the unpacking.....You can bet I am ready to cash that in now.

Here is the birthday party crew minus Nana and Papaw who were taking the pic. Uncle Kevin, Aunt Brandy, me and the girls.

I had a great birthday with my family. It was nice to have everyone there and spend time with them.

Misc Pictures

Ok, so I know I have been absent from blogging for awhile, but all I can say it there has just been way to much going on. With the move, trying to close on our house, finding out about Brad and going to see him...... I finally feel like I can take a deep breath and now get caught up on my blog. So bare with me there will be a few post over the next couple of day.

I believe in my last post I gave an idea of some of the things we were doing while the girls and I were staying in TN with my parents, but no pictures. I thought I would puts some pics out here now of those couple of weeks.

One afternoon we decided to make cupcakes....one of the girls favorite things to do. Katie was helping me frost them.

Bree was only interested in taste testing them. That is my favorite part.

We went over to Uncle Kevin and Aunt Brandy's house a couple of times and they were over at Nana and Papaws alot. So we go to spend some time with them. The girls wanted to try out Rock Band. It was very humorous as we all tried to play or sing. The girls wanted to give the drums a try...Uncle Kevin was helping them out on the bass part and of course he blessed us with his wonderful singing ability. :)

Since Chris was in NC working while we were in TN, we decided to meet halfway one weekend so we could see him. We decided to go back to one of our hometowns Columbia SC. Chris and I lived here for about 3 years. This was the town that Katie was born in, so we took her by the house we used to live in when we brought her home from the hospital. The house hasn't changed much at all. Brought back lots of good memories. :)

The weekend we just spent time hanging out at the hotel, letting the girls swim in the indoor pool. You think they are ready to swim???

We also went over to Frankie's Fun Park for a day. This is a huge place that has indoor games to play and then outside it has putt-putt, go carts, bumper boats, slides, etc. The girls and Chris and I had a blast. I made Chris do the bumper boats as the water was freezing cold. They all ended up getting pretty wet.

The three loves of my life.

Whats Been Going On?

Sorry no pics on this post...two reason...1. Just found my camera the other day it was hiding in our move 2. any pics I have taken are on my phone and I am just too lazy at this time to try an upload.

I thought I would just give an update of what has been going on with us the past two weeks. The girls and I are still in TN with my parents. We have a little over a week before we get to close on our house. YAY!!!! Chris is still living in hotels in NC while he is working. Since we have been in TN we have had lots of fun. The girls LOVE to be at their Nana and Papaw's. They have lots of land to run and play on, plus they get to see their cousin Matthew almost everyday and Uncle Kevin and Aunt Brandy come over lots to play as well. Since we are staying here in TN for several weeks, I am actually homeschooling Katie until we get her enrolled in school in NC. I went out and got some workbooks for her age and also got lots of good information from her Kindergarten teacher in OK. Each day we work on a couple of subjects....I know everyone says their kid is smart, but Katie really is. She learns things really fast....but I will say that I have learned that homeschooling is not something I want to do full time. Katie and I butt heads to much...she doesn't really want to listen sometimes to what I am trying to tell her or if I have to correct something she doesn't take the correction very well. I think it is best that she learns from our public educators. :) I also got Bree a pre-school workbook, so when I am doing school work with Katie so is she. It is so cute...she says to me " Mommy, I am doing school work, please do not bother me.". Ha!

This past weekend we met Chris halfway in Columbia SC so we could have some family time and he could see us. It was almost two full weeks since he saw us, so the girls were super excited to see him....and so was I. I miss that guy when he is not around. :) We used to live in Columbia 6 years ago, this is where Katie was born so we got to show her the house we brought her home to and tell her and Bree lots of fun stories about all the places and things we did when we lived there. The girls swam bunches at the hotel, we did some shopping, took our strolls down memory lane and had some fun at Frankie's Fun Park. It is like a Chuck E Cheese on steroids. Lots of outside activities, putt putt, go-carts, bumper boats, etc. The girls had a blast as did Chris and I.

The girls and I headed home on Sunday and Chris went back to NC :( In less than two weeks we will all be back under one roof and FINALLY get back to a somewhat normal schedule. The girls have been doing really great during our transition, but at times I can tell it all seems to be a little much for them. Katie still gets a little sad about leaving OK and not being able to see her friends anymore, which breaks my heart but it gives me a good time to talk to her about how we can pray and ask God to help us get through the hurt. Pray for new friends, a new church and all the fun we will have making our new house a home.
