Random Things

So here are a few random things that I have forgotten to post. I just put them in one instead of several posts.

Katie and Bree got some skates for their birthday back in February. The kind of skates that go on over their shoes. Few weeks after their birthday on Sunday afternoon we let Katie try them out while Bree was napping. I forgot that I had video until I was loading video to our computer. It was quite comically to us at least on her attempt to skate, plus she was just trying to be silly.

The night of my birthday after our dinner we took the girls to go shoe shopping. They were in need of some summer shoes, especially Bree. It seemed overnight her feet grew two inches and her shoes no longer fit. As we were looking for Bree shoes Katie kept telling me she wanted Twinkle Toe shoes. I had no idea what she was talking about. I just thought she was trying to decribe them to me. She said her friend Lauren had them, but that still didn't help me out any. I told her to just pick from what they had at Payless. Everything she like they didn't have in her size, so since we were at the mall we went over to JC Pennys, as they had their shoes on sale. As we walk in the store Katie yells mom twinkle toe shoes, she shows me and they are actually called "Twinkle Toe Shoes" by Sketchers. I laughed out loud as my 5 year old actually knew the name of the shoes she wanted. Luckly they were on sale and they had her size. She was beyond excited to have the shoes. She had to call Nana and tell her about them and then Katie asked for me to send her a pic. So here you go Nana....The famous Twinkle Toe Shoes

Yesterday I was upstairs working and I look over and this is what I see....Do you think he has made himself at home with us now? Ahhhh....a dogs life.

Soccer Game

Today was Katie's second soccer game and as promised from my last post about her games i do have some pics and video. The video is not that exciting as I don't think Katie has found her competitive streak yet, she is kind of in her own world when she is out there and I think still trying to figure out how what she should do. But she tried and had fun and that is all that matters to me.

I had to edit the video together so here is the link to some of the game. Towards the end of the video, which is towards the end of the game, you can see that she is losing interest and just ready to be done. This age is so much fun to watch as they try to learn new things.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today was my birthday, so Happy Birthday to me! I had an really amazing day. Lots of phones calls and birthday wishes came my way. Chris and the girls took me out to eat tonight. I wanted to go to TGIFriday's, haven't been there in a long time. While we were there I took the girls to the bathroom and evidently while I was gone Chris told our server it was my birthday. She told him they don't sing anymore but she had something else she could do. So at the end of our dinner she comes over with a plate full of whip cream, she told me that if I wanted the suprise at the bottom of the plate I had to find it only using my mouth. I looked at her and Chris and said "are you serious" I was think what kind of birthday celebration is this. I was a good sport and dove in, but I soon had a helper to find the suprise. Katie wanted to help out so I was happy to pass on the plate. After Katie had her fun the server said" Opps I forgot to put the suprise in there", of course she did. She then handed me a coupon for a free dessert or appetizer on our next visit.

Before we left for dinner I tried to get a picture of me and my girls. The girls wanted Samson in the photo.

I love this photo...I was tryig to hold Samson still but he had othere plans. Samson is going in for the lick and Bree's face is priceless.

After dinner we went and did a little shopping and then went home for some cake. I got a wonderful gift of a day at the spa from Chris and the girls. Can not wait to schedule my afternoon of relaxation

Samson

We have had Samson now for a little over the week and he is definatly becoming more at home each day. I have to say I truly forgot how much work puppies are. We are working on the potty training and he is doing really well. Katie is doing great with him and Bree has really suprised us by how much she has warmed up to him. She cracks me up because she tells me she likes him best when he is sleeping. So poor guy, when he is a sleep she trys to pick him up and put him in her lap. He is a good sport and just goes with it

Easter Weekend

We had an eventful and busy Easter Weekend, the weather was so beautiful all weekend and warm. I was a little worried because Friday morning lots of rain and thunderstorms, but by Friday afternoon they were gone and the sun was out for the rest of the weekend.

Saturday morning we started off our day with Katie's first soccer game. Sad to say but I have no pics or video to post today of her. Saturday was one of those days that test how far a parent can be pushed to their limit by a 3 year old. Bree was beyond mad that she could not play soccer with Katie. Bree is at that stage that she "thinks" she has to do everything her big sister is doing. Plus it didn't help matters that Chris is coaching Katie's team so that made her want to be out there even more. I tried to get some picture and video but in the video you would have just heard Bree screaming for Chris as we sat in the stands and watch. Man...that was the longest hour of my life. Katie wanted me to watch her so badly but I just wanted to get Bree the heck out of there to get her mind on something else. Katie did great for her first soccer game. She is the shortest player on the team so she doesn't run quite as fast as everyone else but I have to say the girl gave it her all and she was even caught in the middle of some kids trying to kick the ball and she was standing her ground. I was quite impressed my girls first game. Fingerscrossed this coming Saturday we can get some video.

After the soccer game we had one of Chris' friends from work over and his three girls. There was a community egg hunt that afternoon so they all came over to go. I use the term "egg hunt" very loosely has the eggs were just thrown into a field and let all the kids go after them, but they do this by age group which is nice and they have tons of eggs. The limit was 40 per kid, yes 40. We have so much candy now it is crazy. I did manage to get a few pics of the girls gathering their eggs.

It took them probably 3 mintues if that for them to fill their basket. It is so much fun to watch them just run into this field and start throwing eggs into their baskets.

Sunday we went to church to celebrate Easter. The weather was great high of 84. The girls looked so beautiful in their Easter dresses. After church we went to a friends house for Easter lunch and let the kids get in one more easter egg hunt before the weekend was over.
